BERLIN - Wall of Stories Past and Present
On November 9th, 2009, I took my camera and travelled to Berlin. It was the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
I walked freely from West to East, East to West. I thought of the time when that freedom was blocked, for almost three decades, by a Wall.
A series of 6" x 4" black & white photographs printed on a smooth white cotton rag paper.
Cavern Creatures
'Cavern Creatures' came from my visit to the 'Cathedral Cavern' a chamber in a disused quarry in the Lake District. I took photographs of the slate and rocks, the huge pillar supporting the roof and the pool of water at its base. However, it wasn't until the developing stage that I saw, up close, wonderful shapes, faces and strange creatures evolve before my eyes.
This collection of 8 colour photographs is printed on a rough textured watercolour paper.
